Baby Golden #3

it's a girl! that's a definite lack of boy parts right there.

Willow Jane

we had our 18 wk ultrasound appointment with Dr. H (the perinatologist) in Albuquerque on December 31, 2007. everything looks perfect. baby is measuring a week behind. but that could be for any number of reasons, not the least of which is that babies have growth spurts in and out of the belly.

between 16 and 18 weeks i started to get a bit nervous because i hadn't felt her moving, for sure. there were a couple of maybes but nothing definite. i knew that she was still alive and that she was moving around because of the doppler, but i also know that doesn't necessarily tell the whole story. i finally felt definite movement from her at 18 wks 3 days, just one day before our ultrasound appointment. i'm going to say that she just isn't the kind of kicker that her brother is or was in the tummy. i was able to feel Jesper much earlier than 18 wks, too, which is probably why it made me nervous to feel nothing identifiable. but now she moves all the time. more bumping and rolling around than kicking. but that's ok. she is making herself known and that is the important thing.

we found out that Baby Golden #3 (aka, baby doggie), is a girl. her name is Willow Jane. nate was right, once again. right about her coming and right about her being a girl. i can only assume that he is right about her favorite color being yellow, too. i'm currently looking for the perfect yellow outfit to bring her home in or for her first pictures.

currently we're trying to get nate to pick us some lotto numbers. clearly he knows something that we don't.

that's pretty much all the news.

Congratulations!! I've been terrible about responding to the Mommies emails lately...oops! I must admit that I'm a bit disappointed that you aren't getting to use the name Tavish, because it has such a cool meaning, but I'm way excited for you to be getting your girl!
