surprise!

it's friday already? how did that happen?

so last friday we got a message on our answering machine. jeff's uncle and aunt from colorado springs said they were coming to visit! SURPRISE!

so we spent all of saturday cleaning the house to make it somewhat presentable. they stayed at a hotel in town, so we only had to make the front room and kitchen neat.

they arrived saturday night and came over sunday morning. we spent all of sunday and the better part of monday with them.

it was a nice visit, and we have plans to go up and see them this fall. (since they will be moving back to wisconsin early next year after gerald retires.) not too many people come down to see us here in NM, so it is wonderful when they do. and it was especially nice to see gerald who spent quite a few weeks in the hospital earlier this year for heart sugery (and then for various complications). we weren't able to go up and see them at that time (it was right when willow was due), so we are thankful that they decided to drive down and see us.

so, thanks for the surprise visit G&P. we had lots of fun--and we were forced to clean the living room which was in sore need of it anyway.
